Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets

This novel by J.K. Rowling may be 'old' as some would say, and most of you may have read it, but it is LEGENDARY! This is my first time reading the Harry Potter books as I am mostly keen on watching them rather than reading the novels but J.K. Rowling has a way of writing stories which makes them engaging to read. The Chamber of Secrets is better than 'The Philosophers Stone' in my opinion and in terms of the written story, but I heard that the stories get better as the books progress.

In this book, Harry faces a new year at hogwarts but he doesn't know what's in store for him. Gladly to be away from his 'muggle' aunt and uncle, and their hideous son, Harry is purposely being driven away from getting to Hogwarts by a house elf named Dobby. Harry doesn't understand why but the story slowy reveals itself.
- "The Chamber of Secrets has been opened. Enemies of the heir, beware!"
Harry, Hermione, and Ron are now experiencing a new adventure as they discover about the mysterious Chamber of Secrets. With the heir of Salazar Slytherin on the loose and not knowing who it may be, Harry and his friends set off on another adventure to find out what lies within the chamber, and to conquer the evil within...

I would give this book a FOUR star rating as J.K. Rowling definitely engages the reader with her use of descriptive language. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes the theme of adventure and fantasy and MAGIC, even if it may be your second, third, fourth, or even FIFTH time, the story of Harry Potter will NEVER be forgotten!

  1. This is a really well written book blog. I can see that you are obviously very fond of the Harry Potter books. It was good that you used different quotations to give us a taster of this book. Next time you could add other peoples point of view, EG a newspaper.
    Great Blog! Bridget :)

  2. Really liked the fact that you included a favourite quotation, your opinion and a rating, also you gave an outline of the plot without giving anything away. However, I have read the books, and I personally think that the Philosopher's Stone is the best. :)
